Tahmeena, an illegal Afghan refugee, escapes prostitution and stumbles, exhausted and injured, onto a remote farm. The reclusive farmer, John Woldring, reluctantly nurses her back to health. When John and Tahmeena are discovered by her former captors, the couple fight for their lives. They seek out police to discover the local sergeant is part of the racket.
